Delhi LG’s again misadventure for trees and natural habitat in SDA Delhi

Recntly, The Supreme court of India has summon the Delhi LG regarding tree cutting. For construction of roads in green area DDA had cut more than 400 trees in Delhi. The Supreme court while listening the hearing has asked about the involvement or order passed by LG for tree cutting permission. DDA was not able to give the satisfactory answer and penal action against DDA official was taken.

While the Delhi pollution level is rising day by day which actually affecting the flora and funa of Delhi. DDA with recommendation of LG of Delhi has initiated a proposal for redevelopment of flats and staff quarters of C-7 area in Safdarjung development area in Hauz khas. While the flats are in good condition with no need for major overhaul, it has been proposed for higher stories apartment with increase of FAR and reduction of green area while totally neglecting the nearby green forest in form of Rose garden forest, deer park and district park forest.

The deer park adjacent to the area comprises of Hauz khas lake which is place of migratory birds. The migratory birds are one of the public attraction in winter season and not to mention peacock and other Indian birds. In a similar incident, in Banglore few months back when a construction and destruction of forest the cry of peacock and birds was seen in a video in which the construction was stopped after sometime much cry in every domain in public and in court.

In Delhi again the public money is going to be waisted in a project which has not a proper usage and harming the ecosystem again. While the no decision has been taken on the other DDA project which needs urgent attention like dilapidated flats in Dilshad garden, broken dilapidated Azadpur Transport center, commercial centers Rohini which needs repair to save humanity like and needs urgent Redevelopment, The LG of Delhi and DDA is spending the tax payers money in changing the green habitat and and at last to be stopped by some court and penalising.

The DDA should save itself again from public and Supreme Court anger and stop the project.
