Starlink satellite broadband is coming to India, as department of telecome has approved Starlink to provide internet services in India.
Earlier in 2021, India has rejected as Starlink was not providing shareholding details to Indian authorities. Indian Government want ed to know if privacy laws of other countries can be a valid reason for not sharing complete shareholding details for getting a GMPCS license in India.
Starlink provides in the for of fast internet speed or satellite broadband. Starlink is SpaceX arm of US billionaire Elon Musk. Starlink uses satellite signals for providing internet same like Tatasky or Airtel. The Biggest advantage of Starlink is that it can be used in any remote locations where even mobile services doesn’t exist. The coverage of Starlink is vast around the Globe.
The Downloading speed of Starlink is roughly more than 120 Mbps while uploading speed is low. If you are living in cities then 5G speed is higher than Starlink but if you are living in Indian villages or small town where internet is either very slow or broadband is not available then Starlink can be your option.
In Nigeria the Starlink internet service is charged at a rate of $ 42 which is about Rs 3500/-. While the charges internationally are quite high but can be used in any place in village during travel.
