Sandeep Lamichhane, the former captain of the Nepal cricket team, is having further issues. The court has convicted Sandeep guilty of raping a little girl. In January, Lamichane was granted bail by a Nepalese court.
A 17-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in a Kathmandu hotel room in August of last year. And he was taken into custody.The first cricket player from Nepal to participate in the IPL was Lamichane, a 23-year-old. Year 2018 saw him make his Delhi Capitals debut in IPL. He was found guilty on Friday by a one-member panel led by Justice Shishir Raj Dhakal, according to a report from the Kathmandu Post.
On Sunday, the charges against Lamichane went to trial. Lamichane was convicted of rape by the Kathmandu District Court. At the following hearing in this case, Lamichane will be sentenced.
