The discription shows how to complete KYC for FASTag in Paytm App, if you have purchased the FASTag from Paytm. If you not complete your KYC then the issuing company will deactivate the FASTag, even if it has balance in it. Without FASTag the toll tax become two times as penalty.

Highway tolls are collected via FASTag, an electronic system that makes it more simpler to pay toll taxes at toll plazas. Before the deadline of January 31, FASTag KYC details must be updated, according to the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). After January 31, 2024, banks will deactivate or blacklist all FASTags with insufficient Know Your Customer (KYC) updates, even in circumstances when there is sufficient balance, according to the NHAI.

How to complete KYC-

  1. Open your Paytm App.
  2. click on Wallet.
  3. when wallet page opens click on FASTag.
  4. A new FASTag page will open like given 👇

5. Now check which documents are required, like RC.

6. Click the photo of documents and upload.

You have completed the KYC.

FASTag is a sticker where there a small electronic chip inside. The FASTag is issued to four wheelers, and is unique for every vehicle. The FASTag issuing authority like bank or Paytm issues the tag in the name of vehicle owner. The owner needs to recharge the FASTag wallet in order to use it. For Paytm the wallet balence is automatically used in the payment of toll tax through FASTag. FASTag is read by the scanner overhead at the road toll tax booth. It is read by RFID or Radio frequency identification. RFID technology is now widely in many Applications like inventory tracking, pet tag scan etc.

Last date of KYC is 31 January, 2024.
