Shakib Al Hasan is famous for his strong reactions weather in cricket or in public. He elected from the parliamentary seat Magura-1 defeating his rival Qazi Rezaul Hussain by 1,50,000 votes. He got ticket form the Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League for running the in the election. While he already said he has no major obstacle to face in the election which also shown in the result. Awami League party has won the election by getting 200 seats out of 300 seat.
In one of the video that is been circulated, he went for the casting a vote in which there was huge crowd. One of his fan tried to come near to him for taking selfie when he lost his control and slapped him. The video is before he won the election.
The above said election was widely criticized by the western media, and the election was also boycotted by the Begam Khalidazia -Bangladesh Nationalist Party while China and India supported the election.
Shakib Al Hasan has said he will be active both in cricket as well as in politics. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, Shakib Al Hasan made his final appearance for Bangladesh. However, under his captaincy, the Bangladeshi team was unable to perform effectively. In nine games, the squad managed to win just two. It has also suffered losses in seven games at the same period. In some way, the group made it to the 2025 Champions Trophy. In the ODI World Cup, Shakib was unable to play well.
